The Mahabharata Movie Soundtrack
If we were to make the Mahabharata into a movie, we would have it set in modern day times, relating the moral of the true Mahabharata to morals that people today would understand. The film is set in a massive corporation, called Pandava Industries, that is run by an extended family and has a tight economic hold on the rest of the world. Arjuna is the CEO of this major company and is seen as fair, powerful, and respected by his employees, except one. Duryodhana is Arjuna's eldest cousin and with over eight siblings he feels as though he is invisible throughout the company and to his parents. Duryodhana soon develops a thirst for power and designs a plan to have Arjuna thrown out of office so he can take his large place. Arjuna is in a dilemma and can't decide wether he should fire Duryodhana or just let him continue his plan of corruption. Krishina, who is the vice president of Pandava Industries is very old , wise and seen like a god. He convinces Arjuna that he must fire Duryodhana because he will bankrupt the company. Bhisma who is Arjuna's advisor agrees with Krishna but, he suggests that Duryodhana is given a more important position than he already has to try and keep the peace. Arjuna ultimately understands that his cousin is tearing the company apart and he must fire Duryodhana. He uses Krishna's words as courage and remembers that his cousin will find a better job and nothing can tear his family apart.
Arjuna: "We are the Champions" by Queen
We chose this song to represent Arjuna in our movie because the song illustrates victory and in the epic he was the only undefeated warrior , making him a champion. He is also seen as a champion in the epic because he fulfills his dharma and understands the major concept of Hinduism. In our movie this song is a reference to how Arjuna is seen as a champion to his employees and also how he becomes a champion by firing Duryodhana which save the entire company and many jobs. Arjuna feels as though he company is a major success therefore he believes he is a champion. Arjuna is a very fair CEO and may people think that he is a champion for building and sustaining such a massive company.

Krishna: "Your Guardian Angel" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
We chose this song to represent Krishna because in the epic he is one of the most lovable Gods in India. He gives Arjuna advice towards his family and the upcoming battle, ultimately guarding Arjuna in his times of need. In our movie Arjuna is the vice president of Pandava Industries and gives loads of advice to Arjuna on how to sustain and grow his company. He wants the best for Arjuna and reminds him that there are ups and downs of being a CEO. He also gives great advice and supports the people around him, helping Arjuna to decide what is best for the company by helping to suggest to fire Duryodhana. He respects everyone and everyone respects him.

Duryodhana (Mr. Dirty Fighter): "Born to Lead" by Hoobastank
We chose this song for our movie because in the epic Duryodhana is a great leader for the Kauravas and shows a thirst for power in gaining control of the empire. In our movie Duryodhana is jealous of Arjuna's power within the company and he decides to attain the power for himself through corruption. He is the most disliked employee throughout Pandava Industries. He disrespects the other employees and all of his bosses of the corporation using fear, pain, and manipulation to get his way. He feels invisible and wants to be noticed through cheating and fear.

Bhisma: "Let it Be" by The Beatles
We chose this song for our movie because in the epic Bhisma spoke "words of wisdom" to try to keep the peace and he always tried to keep things fair, which is what this song represents. In our movie Bhisma is Arjuna's most trusted advisor trying to keep peace within the company and to make sure that everyone is treated fair. Bhisma fears corruption and unfairness for together they will turn the company into a self destructive place. He does not want Arjuna to fire Duryodhana for he wants everything to always remain the same to continue peace. Bhisma is respected and is always followed, except when it comes to Duryodhana.

The Fight: "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas
We chose this song to represent the fight between the Kauravas and the Pandavas because it has a motivational beat to it and it represents the idea of a fight in a fun, entertaining way like in the epic. In our movie when Arjuna goes to fire Duryodhana a brawl erupts between them in which Duryodhana must be restrained and thrown out. This brawl has an unusual tone of excitement and gives the employees of Pandava Industries a show that they have never seen before. This brawl is very long and soon gives Arjuna the reassurance that what he did was right because Duryodhana is a very dangerous person. The brawl also has a very emotional tone because it shows the idea of a family being torn apart as each punch is thrown.
